Today's article has you changing your DNS settings in Lubuntu...

LOL Yes, yes I have now written so many articles that I'm not sure which ones I've written.

I actually have to check, using the search feature, to make sure I hadn't already written the article I'm thinking about writing. More than once have I been about done with the intro, gone to look for articles to backlink for time saving/SEO reasons, and realized I already wrote that article.

If you don't like Google, you can use the following:
Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1
Quad 9 DNS: 9.9.9.9

I use DNSCrypt for myself, but it is a bit complicated to setup. You can search for that on the internet. (Use keyword How to setup DNSCrypt in Ubuntu 20.04).

I actually have DNSCrypt as a future article idea. It's good stuff.

I will be most interested to see an article on DNSCrypt

Call it coincidence, but since changing dns to googles numbers, I notice an immediate change/uptick in intruders to a few sites....particularly by a bunch who refer to themselves as www.goosebumps.com .....reachable using googles dns bit not using 1.1.1.1, 9.9.9.9

Coincidence...I am not a great believer. Call me cynical.

Buggered if I know.

You can dig into the DNS records and probably figure it out. Google propagates REALLY quickly.
