Debian 10 "buster" 10.6 doesnt boot after the grub

Hello, i am new on the forum (but know some informatic already) and i have a the problem that i cant boot on to my debian 10 "buster" 10.6, after i install it, i have a dual boot w10 and the debian on separated drives, and i couldn't get it to work the w10 and the debian on the grub, them i try on recovery mode, i wrote on comand line: "update-grub." i got to working the w10 (it search it and found it), but not the debian. Can get some help? I DONT KNOW IF IT IS A BUG.

My pc: amd ryzen 5 2600X, B450M-PRO-M2, 16gb ram ddr4 3000hmz, 1 nvme500gb(w10), 120gb ssd sata (debia10), amd rx570.

I am from EU (not english my 1º languaje sorry for bad explication) so its past mid day, so i will read this thread every some little time, i would like to fix it, for monday so i can continue studing my Administration of Informatic System on Net, i can use meanwhile w10 with no problem, but some exercise works better on linux.


Meanwhile i will try to use ubuntu 20.04.1

I suspsect this is a combination of your display manager not being able to start because of a video driver problem or something like that. When your system gets to the point where you see the cursor blinking. Try pressing ctrl+alt+f4 . You should get a login screen where you can log in. If that works we can try and figure out how to get it working from there.

when i get get the black screen with the "_" on the left superior corner, i remember to do ctrl+alt+supr and reboot the sistem.
But ritgh now i am using ubuntu, it took another 5 trys to get it working the grub (which didnt wanted to work, i modified and good now) and the ubuntu. Mabey next year i will try again the debian. THX for the tip f33dm3bits.

Ubuntu is a good distribution, doesn't matter which distribution you use as long as you are happy with it :) Also sometimes it may take a while for people to respond because people here on the forums live in different time-zones across the world. Be sure to post a topic in the Members Introductions section so you can get to know the other members of the community.
