Hello,
Im currently using: xUbuntu_20.04 and
I request you to guide me on: How to view the commands, the 'xfdesktop-settings' is executing behind-the-scenes, to select and edit(stretch, crop, zoom, ...), and set the wallpaper/background at the Desktop, so that i can manually set the background on a different machine which is running Debian_Buster(with 'xorg'+'dwm'),

I got to know about 'x11perf' command, but did not understand the usage from the "man x11perf", and how to edit the image file for a 16:9 Display, all from the commandline.
I PREFER not to install more programs, especially GUI-based...
Thanking you...

Run from terminal?
Code:
$ xfdesktop-settings
Also, read here https://mxlinux.org/wiki/xfce/xfce-commands-and-other-useful-stuff/#snippets this is a great resource with lots of tips and tricks to use in xfce.
Read here too https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfdesktop/start

Hope this helps! :)
First of of all thanking you for your kind reply:--)
I exec 'xfdesktop-settings' from terminal, but there was no output on the terminal, i even changed wallpaper and its type(stretched, zoom, ...), but no effect.
I read the docs you shared, but doesn't seem to have it, what i need, might be because it was not intended to be done like how im doing.
I had asked this same question on a different forum, which gave a very helpful note:
Classical X-Y-Problem: what you are asking for help with is not the solution to your actual problem.
on dwm, you want to set the root window background. The way xfdesktop does this has nothing to do with it.
You can use a number of utilities: xsetroot, hsetroot, setroot, feh, ... some of them are probably already installed.

You're welcome. :) Somehow I missed the part where you mentioned dwm and assumed you were using xfce4 as a desktop, which now I know is not the case. I've never used dwm so not sure but icewm and awesomewm use feh for that.
