Feedback wanted - as I answer the question of what is the best Linux distro.

Just a few things just opinions up to you what you do with them.

Thanks and I like your ideas. I'll be editing it sometime this week.

SBC = Single Board Computer, if you're curious. See:

I absolutely should explain them better and didn't know Scientific was going under. I'm not sure how I missed that in the news. I usually pay attention to that sort of stuff.

Thanks and LOL @ them converting to CentOS... I wonder how that decision is gonna impact 'em?

I have no idea how I missed that in the tech news. It's not even remotely triggering a memory - so I probably never saw it and didn't just see it while drinking wine and forgot.

They were in the process in converting everything to C8 so I can imagine they aren't happy.

That has to *really* suck for them. There's nothing quite like having the rug pulled out from beneath your feet. Man, that has to suck for them.

Entirely unrelated...

I've been keeping an eye on Rocky Linux. I check in on their forum and chat regularly.

They're moving forward very rapidly, with some pretty big names involved. But... No matter how awesome they start out, I just can't justify putting a brand new distro into production or recommending others do so.

But, they're progressing well - and rapidly. I expected some speed in the heavily motivated project, so that's not really too surprising. The folks involved seem to really know what they're doing, which is also unsurprising.

I suspect they'll do just fine. I'll revisit the choice to use their distro in a couple of years.

Good Article! Just a few things just opinions up to you what you do with them.

I ended up leaving in my reference to LFS, but changed the rest and made a number of other changes - including expanding more acronyms and linking to their respective Wikipedia pages. Search engines like links, so it was a good excuse to add them.

Thanks!

I'll surely revisit the article soon, probably multiple times to refine it.

My next 'big' one should be about how to ask a support question.
