Hi there, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. My Windows PC isn't working very well, the OS in particular. I can run the Delta card with no problem with the drivers right up to 8.1 but wish to move to Linux with the card but read there is a lot of configuration, especially with what flavour of Linux it can work with

Has anyone used this card with Linux and if so what Linux does it perform best on? I mostly just use Audacity for recording and editing so that's a must. I understand there would probably be a lot of tinkering to get it working which I'm prepared for, always looking for a challenge.

I use Ubuntu 20-something right now on my laptop and I'm quite happy with it so I wouldn't mind making the move to Linux for an all-out music production suite as I've seen that Ardour can do this. Am I correct?

Hope this was all easy to understand, thanks in advance for any help you all can give me

Oooh! That's a pretty sexy card!

And, it looks like it has good Linux support. See here: https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/hw/m-audio_delta_1010lt

Anyhow, the best way to tell is to just plugin a live USB/DVD, boot to it, and check to see if it works. If it doesn't work, that doesn't mean it can't work, it just means it doesn't work out of the box.

The above link should probably be further explored by you. It's a pretty solid resource, or was the last time I paid attention to it.

Ha, thanks. Glad to see it still gets so much love after all these years. I will have a look at that shortly and get back to you. Thanks so much for your kind and quick reply KGIII. Wish me luck!

I had a look at that page but I'm not quite sure what to do with it. There is a few notes at the bottom, which mentions software or some sort of package that I'm unaware of. I don't know what Linux to use to begin with. I'm sorry I hope I'm not being any trouble

I'd just pick a distro that looks interesting, download the .iso, use Balena Etcher to write it to USB, boot to said USB, and see if the card works.

I've tried all the distros. All of 'em. Well, not really - but a whole bunch of 'em.

Anyhow, I was a person responding to the original poster - and am not the original poster. I haven't got the hardware in question.
