Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good day! Just a while ago I was having a conversation with another member of the Linux community. We were discussing the subject distribution creation. When I expressed an interest in creating one, the conversation somehow came to this phrase by the opposite party:

“I would not care if half of the distros out there just disappeared.”

This got me thinking. As someone who is creating a distribution for everyday use, how would I make mine stand out and actually have purpose in the Linux world?

Add a useful a feature(one or more) that is unique to your distribution, if other distributions start copying it you know you have done something right.

The only "pointless' distros are those built by people who don't know what they're doing and can't support their own release. So, as long as you can actually support it and have a low-bug release, you're doing better than some.

If you could make a distro that's based on Arch and has a "FULL G.U.I." so that the command line never needs to be used no matter what that is as stable and reliable as Debian. Have an excellent support forum in which everyone is treated fairly without any bias and with good manners. That distro will really stand out.

Huh? May I ask what you mean by this and to whom the question was asked?
I ask none personally, just giving my perspective on ''how to avoid to make just another distribution''.

With other words, for me, none can be trusted individually, I put all my eggs to lots of people, unknown to each other in an open project. Still many things can go wrong but that's my best bet. It's Just me, not the most valid, look at my nickname.

Thus, try to make communities or join them. Don't bother with your own distribution unless for personal use.
