RasperyPi 4 Use Ideas

G'day @DexTheDog , I am moving this to Single board computers, where Pi matters are dealt with.

Off Topic is more for non-Linux matters.

I have a B+ mounted insideat the top of a tower speaker, plugged into a little amp when on it connects to home network. Volumio is running. Have a Pi Zero W inside an old tank model to hook up to TV don't use it much anymore but it is running Kodi.

There are so many things you could do with a Raspberry Pi, even more with a RPi4 since it has more computing power.
The two most adequate uses (for its computing power) I believe are gaming and movies.
For gaming you could install Retropie and emulate any kind of game (i.e. PSX, Nintendo Wii, Gameboy, N64...).
For movies you could install LibreELEC.

When the Pi was still fairly new, I bought a half dozen to make a smart gate for my driveway. I never got around to it, but the idea was pretty solid.

Well KG what the heck is keepin ya? :D

I am gathering woodworking alum, that I have, planned to build Sleds for the table saw...never got around to it. So now I am gonna build a PC open test case. Adjustable for even messing with PI's

Time, really. I never made time for it. They're now just wasting space in a drawer.

I hardly ever set aside time for my projects. It's usually something for everyone else.

Send them to me I will put them to good use. :)

They're first-gen RPi. If you do want 'em, I'll gather them up this weekend (as time allows) and ship 'em on. I have six. Only one is opened/tested.

Just gave a guy at work a Lodge Iron skillet ain't used in years, and am giving him a 7 level Dehydrator, last time I used it just ended up making jerky for the dogs. Just found 3 boxes with Motherboards. I Asus Black Pearl, Pentium 3. (Named before the pirate movies) I Gigabyte and 1 Tyan Both AMD the last 2 of which were still new and unused. I am a pack rat, but becoming a pack mouse.

Getting rid of stuff I am not gonna use anymore.

I use a raspberry pi 4 to run pihole. From what I can see it should easily run on older models too. My network has 16 clients and pihole acts as dhcp as well as dns.

I'm thinking of adding lancache to the mix to make my network run more efficient. I wouldn't recommend that on the pi 2 though.
