So basically, I don't know what is happening but i have proper dual boot windows 10 and popos set up and everything is working fine, both Operating Systems are stable and working well, BUT sometimes (not everytime) when i boot up popos it just says cryptsetup: waiting for encypted device or something similar and it never finds it, and i can't seem to find how to fix it, i've been searching for about a month to fix this, so i figured it was time to ask you :D

Thank you, in advance

Also it's almost like it doesn't detect the SSD sometimes when it boots up so that creates the problem, [removed]

I removed your contact method. You don't want that getting out and in the hands of spammers, additionally you posted in the forum here and nobody is going to go contact you on another platform.

okay

These problems are usually not easy to fix, I can try. Can you share your /etc/default/grub?

popos uses systemd-boot tho
I didn't know that, I don't have experience with systemd-boot. I would check the device(/dev/sdX) is configured, if so it might be worth a try configuring the UUID of the luks encrypted device to see if that makes a difference.

The UUIDs are correct but i think the problem is that the ssd for some reason sometimes does not get detected, because when it boots it shows messages like the device with UUID=xxxxx is not found, and when it drops to intrafams and i type exit then it shows that the root file system is not detected as well

Yeah it sounds then like the UUID is used or else you would see something else. Can you share the output of fdisk -l so we can see what Disk model your system is using?

I'm assuming PopOS is installed on the "Kingmax PCIe SSD 256GB" ?

Do you by any chance have "Fast boot" enabled on your Windows installation and what is the full message you get when it's waiting? I did a search on the web and the one I have come across several time so far is "Cryptsetup: Wating for encrypted source device", so I think we might be able to find more if you share the full message you get?

i will reboot a couple of times and take a picture if i get the error, also fast boot is disabled

Try running the following in a terminal when you are booted into PopOS.
Code:
sudo update-initramfs -u -k all
That will update your initramfs with your encrypted device, not sure if it will help but it's worth a try.

Okay, I will try that later, thanks for your help

I would also check your BIOS settings and make sure it is set to ACHI and not to Raid ON
This configuration can be seen by:
Code:
cat /etc/crypttab
Just to corroborate what is happening by:
Code:
ls /dev/
also make sure Secure Boot is turned off as well in Windows
