Hello;
Not able to start dell laptop with Yumi v2.0.6.9 linux ( operating system : Linux 4.4.0-148 generic i686 (32 bit) ubuntu current o pray system Linux me 4.15.0-74- generic #84 ubuntu smp).
Started in safe move . Message : “inodes thst were part of a corrupted orphan linked lust found. Dev/sda1 : UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; run fsck manually.
Failure: File system check of the root filesystem failed.
The root filesystem on dev/sda1 requires a manual fsck. “

How to run manual fsck?
If responding plz give details cause i am not a computer person.

we could try the non tech simple way [no guarantee but it may work]
do you get the boot screen when you switch on if not switch on and hold the shift key down [this should bring up the boot menu,]
select generic repair mode and enter
it will then start spewing out loads of guff don't worry , when its finished you will get a message this will take up *** extra space press Y and continue
if it is a corrupt instruction with luck if you follow the instructions as repair is running it may fix it

Thank you for instructions. 1) I run generic repair and i do not see option Y after it performed repair. I entered Y anyway. No found. Same error.

2) run fsck -yf /dev/sda1. The system was modified. Was it my error?
See the screen shot.

no just as i said it was the non tech option that may have worked..

what it is telling you is to open a terminal and type in fsck -yf /dev/sda1 and enter [it may aske for a sudo password I hope you remember it] and let it run

Your YUMI is outdated 2.0.8.9 is the latest - I take it this was downloaded from PenDriveLinux - did you format the USB prior to using YUMI? To use YUMI from Windows you need to delete all partitions on thumb drive first using Disk Management, Then create a new one then format it to FAT32 - Some USB thumb drives are formatted to USB-FDD (floppy disk drives) not USB-HDD (hard disks Drives) You need USB-HDD to work.
I would recommend Etcher over Yumi

I run fsck -yf /dev/sda1 . It open it up. But after i shut down and open again, i had the same error: “Message : “inodes thst were part of a corrupted orphan linked lust found. Dev/sda1 : UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; run fsck manually.” Is it s permanent issue? Should i re-instal YUMA or Etcher to fix it?

@Lord Boltar has more knowledge than me with multi boot pen-drives, I think you should now take his lead

I download it from someone else usb. Don’t know how it was formatted. Can i override Yuma with Etcher or should format laptop hard drive first?
