Closest version similar to Windows (SOLVED)

Which of these distributions enables me to use Windows software?
None of them! That is the biggest difference.... that is why Linux is not Windows. Linux can run SOME Windows software in Wine, but there is much that absolutely will not run in Wine. When you said above that you intend to go back to Windows, that is where I suggested that would probably be your best option.... and I still think that is true. Linux has been a struggle and is not meeting your needs. Maybe Windows will.

Some of the programs you use
1- Figma
2- Adobe software
There are many different Adobe products. Some may run in Wine/Linux, and some probably won't. All you can do is try to install what you want in the Linux you choose. Programs that are made for Windows run better in Windows. But maybe Linux has other programs that will do the same thing... but those may or may not suit your needs either.

My problem is the lack of lessons on YouTube in my mother tongue Arabic for Linux programs, unlike Windows
I have no problem using software in Linux for the same purpose
So I have difficulties and challenges

I know... the language barrier has been difficult. But you have done much better with whatever translator you are using. You will probably always find more help available for Windows... simply because there is more people using Windows and sharing their knowledge. You may find the right Linux that will work for you and run the software you want... but it will probably continue to be difficult and challenging, especially if you require Windows software.

If a YouTube video has subtitles/closed captions it doesn't matter what language it is in - it can be translated to a different language.

Have a look at

طارق

إذا كان مقطع فيديو YouTube يحتوي على ترجمات مصاحبة / تسميات توضيحية مغلقة ، فلا يهم اللغة المستخدمة - يمكن ترجمتها إلى لغة مختلفة.

Don't worry, I know we're trying to overcome the language barrier, and it will be a thing of the past
Linux Mint driver works fine but I find it difficult to solve problems and is now broken

I don't know about the legality - but I think they're reselling unused non-retail keys, which probably skirts the Windows license agreement. You can get cheap Windows 10 keys. Like, dirt cheap.

They're as low as a few Euro, not even $5 USD. From looking around and reading a couple of articles, you have pretty good odds of the key working. The desktop I'm using now came with a Windows 10 Pro (I think) key. I took a picture of it and gave it to someone here, but it didn't work for them - but I seem to recall they had other issues at the time. If you have a Windows 7 or 8 license key, that *may* still be able to be upgraded to Windows 10.

In a couple of days, you'll have been at this for at least a year. As much as I don't like saying so, Linux may just not be for you.

@stan There is one USB boot that works very well + extra tools. Also has a special section for windows images (worked for onboard nvme ssd install too). Uses Ventoy as a base with Medicat on top. Haven't figured out WindowsFX for onboard nvme yet, but all other drives install with no issue.

That looks suspiciously like an advertisement. Though they appear to be open source, so I won't just blindly delete it (yet).

How are you affiliated with the project? @SeekTruth

not at all... just recently discovered it after trying yumi, rufus, unetbootin for years... as an old tech, i was elated to find it, so thought i'd share... yeah sorry, my writing style is like college, meets tech instruction... wait, this goes just to you right? lol i like making things look pretty, and this is not. but i hear ya :)

not at all...

Alrighty, thanks. Welcome to Linux.org. I'll go ahead and just leave it. They do sell a product, but so don't all sorts of other sites we link to.

oh wow, I wasn't aware. Thank you for the welcome... On thread... I've been testing WindowsFX past 3 days, turns out they negated to warn the user that RAID needs to be off to install correctly. You'd have to research Ubuntu RST if you plan on installing side-by-side (be sure to read the comments first). ZorinOS and Linux Mint warned me right off the bat. There are also a bunch of bugs in LinuxFX/WindowsFX. I like how it appears, and the massive options; however I would not recommend it to anyone switching from Windows just yet. I would however recommend Zorin. Been using all day. Simple interface, solid straight-forward menus, with enough customization for power users. Cheers!

It's straightforward i started using Linux for real when ubuntu 14 came out, i used it for a short time and then back to win. When the next version came out, i did the same and the same till ubuntu 20.04 came out i was there for a longer time since gaming felt more like a possibility at that point, and now I'm on POP!_OS 20.10 for good. It takes a long time to learn to use Linux and the most important thing which many don't know how to do. Just ask Linus his been making the same mistake repeatedly and complained about it being a problem because he doesn't know how to do it the right way. It's google research. If you don't know how to search for things on google the right way, you will find ten-year-old posts, and those will fuck your system up more than help you if they help you at all.

Learn to google research and then take a crack at Linux and do what you want. Even better, join a Discord server where you can share your screen while someone is guiding you.

But Linux will never be Win, and thanks for that.

@Tarq - Hey Tarek, I note the username change - thanks, that helps :)

I know this Thread is marked as solved, but I have one more idea for you and that is

ReactOS

It is free and open source software (like Linux) but it is not Linux. It is made to be able to run Windows programs.

Distrowatch have mention of it here

https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=reactos

and their home page is here

https://reactos.org/

Because it is not Linux, we may not have support for your questions here, unless some of our Members are using it, but I thought I should mention it for your consideration.

Hope this finds you healthy and safe. ;)

These keys are very cheap, but they are difficult to activate because they require you to download Windows 10 in an ISO format with a key that only activates with that particular file. If you try to activate the key on any other Windows it won't work. But it is true that if you are not able to overcome this small hurdle, the Linux option is not the right choice.

Why am I reading this old thread.
