I am pretty stoked. In the past 28 days, I've had 5000 people choose linux-tips.us as their source for knowledge:

That's a pretty solid result. 'Snot easy to get that much search traffic for Linux terms. The site ranks quite well for a bunch of search terms, but then again I've written a whole lot of articles.

Well done.

(wonders whether he should tell him that in Australia, snot means mucus - a booger, yucch ;) )

That's what snot means here. I've adopted it to 'it's not' - kinda like "is it a booger or is it snot", which might kinda tickle your rhyming slang bones just a little.

That's really impressive! How long did you need to write all this articles?

Hundreds of hours, I suppose.

But, each article is probably about an hour total, as an average. Some are take more time, some take less.

Even with the ads, it tends to cost me money. Not too many Linux users opt to view ads. So, if you decide to do a similar site, you should be prepared to pay for it.

Great Accomplishment :)

Thanks! The growth rate has been quite consistent lately.

I accepted a paid article. Google's algorithms aren't bad. They detected it in a heartbeat. So, they threw me into the doghouse for a couple of months.

Since then, the site's traffic has consistently grown (as an average).

Once upon a time, I used to be pretty happy if the site got 20 visits in a day. The other day, I got almost 1000 visitors.

January is pretty slow, so far. Well, it depends on which numbers you look at. My favorite stat 'unique users' is doing just fine. Strangely, the 'visits' is a bit behind. So, more new users but they're not revisiting - probably 'cause they are from a search engine result and don't need to come back.
