I have a question I would like to ask more experienced Linux users. I have an extra i9 X7900 processor and I would like to build a new Linux computer running Ubuntu 19.4. What would be my best option for compatible motherboards? I have read that some of the X299 boards don't support Linux. I ran into this myself trying to dual boot an Asrock X299 motherboard. I would appreciate any advise.

G'day @Tak023 and welcome to linux.org :). I have deleted your duplicate Post/Thread.

BTW it's Ubuntu 19.04, not 19.4 , means April 2019 it was released, but it only has support for 9 months, may be better considering 18.04?

Thanks. I will probably use 18.4 when I get my computer built. Finding a compatible motherboard at the moment seems a bit difficult. The 2 X299 boards I had don't support Linux at all.
