Distro selection

How many times people is going to say that Linux is not Windows? I f*cking know it.
The comment was not meant to piss you off, mate. Without knowing that you already use Linux, AKA a "Newbie", it was a valid reply, meant to assist you in understanding the differences between the two systems. :) Welcome to the group! I would vote for Xbuntu.

One thing I have noticed, on Legacy kit, is that youtube videos play much better on the chromium browser, than Firefox, it seems less demanding on older hardware. Just my 2 cents worth. Try both, and see which works better for you.

Happy Trails,
Paul

Just some final thoughts on this thread.

Zorin adds features like Zorin game mode and more recently Zorin Grid.

Zorin make Ubuntu better, not just the looks but also under the hood.

apart from the OP there are a dozen (now 13) contributors to this thread, but only 3 votes.

this is a survey or poll, with only 2 choices - xubuntu and zorin. if you are going to contribute, please do the OP the courtesy of voting.

given the OP has said at #5 that he has installation media ready, then suggesting other linux distros is academic, although i personally value and use a number of your suggested distros.

This being the case the OP should give each a Live test drive and see which works best on the computer it will be installed on.

Are those features available in Zorin Lite? Or only in Zorin Ultimate?
If the OP wanted to consider Zorin Ultimate then they could have a desktop already themed to look like Windows. *boom!* done! :) @MrVeink

I guess the game mode is in the free versions and it works automatically. The Zorin Grid is probably for organizations with many PC's.

Just meant the as some features to their distro, that some will find useful.
