Hi guys, so I decided to try and experiment with Linux for a bit and as I was trying to install Linux for the first time (ever) I ran into some problem. For some reason I can't try or install Ubuntu it just frozes after i click try or install. Please help

Thanks

Some PC specs, especially video, would be useful.

hi
i think if you install linux you cant leave it
because you love it;)
for your problem you must download ubuntu from the ubuntu site
if you've done it now you must bootile it "correctly"
format a flash
download and use yumi (it works in windows) to bootile your flash to linux
then boot your flash (change in bios)
and choose ubuntu and after that choose install ubuntu
and when press install just wait and let it install ubuntu
i hope i can help you

I've done everything exactly the same and i't still doesn't work

Are you using a CD or DVD or a usb stick to install Ubuntu?
Did you disable secure boot and did you go into the BIOS and make the cdrom or the usb stick the first choice in the boot menu?

Give more details please. I've done everything exactly the same and it still doesn't work is vague.

I tried to disable secure boot but I can't it's gray. So I found somewere that if you set admin pass it would let me but still nothing

Some HP motherboard don' know its a laptop
What exact HP model laptop do you have?
Did your HP come with Windows 10?

If I can find the exact model online I might be able to help you disable the secure boot.

Perhaps this will help.

That might just solve OP problem.

He has a GTX1050Ti GPU.
I can't tell if it's this card or not?

As a former GIS Tech, I put up with nVidia because it was the best for the job when I was using it. It remains a great grahics card.

I can begin to understand Linus's frustration over their proprietarianism (word?) but, frankly, Broadcom gave me much more of a headache while using Debian in the early days of my Linux experience than nVidia ever did.

Everyone has a pet peeve, it seems. NVidia is not one of mine. M$ is!

@OP -- here's your driver

HP OMEN 15-ce006nm
I found you machine here:

Shame it doesn't tell me what BIOS you have.:(

1. Try following the instructions that poorguy posted for you.

2.If that fails I would give HP a call and get a rep to help you get into the BIOS and disable the secure boot.

I can relate as I have a pet peeve with installers and bootloader wars.
