Yes. I just buy a new pensive.. and tells me the same. I don't have another cd-rom to burn from. Basically I flash the usb, as the website told me. And it failed again. Is there any way that I can use a small distro...install that. And the move forward with a internet connection?

I can do it from the stick. But I never formatted if like fat. I did it as the Linux format or tried without partition, just raw. I will tried. What about the log, that I posted?

I just tried again, delete partition and install lubuntu. And I did my homework and I had a photo. The most complete is booting the installation and the second one is in graphical safe mode, I don't recall exactly.

It actually has a hhd password and a win partition..everything is gone. Still the installation stuck at the logo...i have a couple of bad usb sticks..i might replace them tomorow. Tomorow i will post more about the installation. Thanks

Naaa...there are a couple of guys that make this. I don't think it was a malware...its just lot of knowledge. When I paid It appears his real name, he has the touch!. Anyway, back to the original thread...installing Ubuntu. It failed.

I got one with 2 versions..or at least for that computer. Maybe today only works for windows. I m going to try this method, and let you know.

Kill Cmos..works...is the same of disconecting the battery..basically empties the memory. But i guess that the info is in the flash..so..unless you enter the password..it's not possible to bypass it. I Tried to flash the Bios with the ACER tool..but..it didn't work from the hirens boot....at...

This values here..are related to the key..but not luck trasnlating that..i can wipe the cmos. An it will write this again. This change over time..since each time that i put a wrong key it generate other..but still generate some similar pattern.

No sir. None of the 8 or 10 digits pwd recovery for acer works. The seems to be numerica. And this one is alphanumeric.
