Hi, I am having some issues with Certbot SSL certificates on a Debian VPS, I was wondering if someone could help me please.
First, I installed XMPP with Certbot using “webroot” since there was no actual webserver or page. This worked perfectly fine with no issues.
Then I’m trying to run...
Wow thank you, that is very amazing that you did all of those tests to help me resolve this. You are very kind.
So Brave browser also asks for the keyring login, but the native Firefox that came with the distro does not.
Ok so let's take Skype as an example. So when I get auto-logged in to the VM, and open skype, it then has the keyring password prompt pop up, which is asking for the same password for the user to login.
If I go to:
Passwords and Keys
Then the Login section
Skype for Desktop has 2 entries
If I...
No. I want to start the VM and use programs without a password.
Right now it does display the desktop without a password, but when I open any program, for example the browser, it then requires the keyring password.
I want to keep the sudo password requirement
Sorry for the delay, I was out of town for the holidays.
So if I try to do sudo, it does prompt for a password.
These are the lines added to the lightDM configuration file:
[Seat:*]
autologin-user=user
autologin-user-timeout=0
Unfortunately now that there's no Login password, when I try to run any software I get this prompt:
Unlock Login Keyring
Authentication Required
The login keyring did not get unlocked when you unlocked your computer
I did an upgrade and have the same results unfortunately. here's some neofetch info:
OS: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) x86_64
Kernel: 5.10.0-19-amd64
DE: Cinnamon 4.8.6
Under the users section of the GUI where that option should be, I don't see anything
Thank you so much for writing this out, however unfortunately it did not work. So I did not have the custom.conf file, but created it like you said and copy pasted in those auto login lines with substituting my username for the chris.
It still has me login at VM bootup
I got a KVM with Debian 10.
I want it to just immediately begin without having to enter a password or username. I know this is less secure, but it’s not important data in this VM.
I tried a couple of things from this guide...
