  • I've been looking at the Gemini PDA since it launched, but because it was so expensive, and I was in-between jobs at the time, I never got one. Now that there's plenty of used ones available on sites like eBay, and the prices are more reasonable because of that, I'm going to get myself a gift card in order to obtain it.
I came across this pop/adult contemporary singer named Taylor Dayne last night, and after liking her one song "I'll Always Love you", I was playing her other songs earlier today at work. What's interesting about her voice is it can be described as "blue-eyed soul" (a white singer who sings with soul-sounding melody). Check her out, as I'm sure you'll like her as well.
I think I pulled a muscle in my foot when I was at work last night. While taking a hot bath this morning helped, I still had to limp around at work today. Thankfully, I got off of work earlier.
I don't want to upset anyone by mentioning this, but my cat Vegas died back in March, and today would've been her 16th birthday. I broke down again shortly after taking that in, but I wasn't heartbroken like I was when my family was in the process of euthanizing her.
To the tornado victims within Kentucky, Illinois (my state), Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri, my heart goes out to all of you. To those who are participating in disaster relief, you are examples of genuine American heroes.
Like many of you, I played with Legos as a kid, and decided to bring up LeoCAD, which is the FOSS version of Lego Digital Designer (and should be in most repositories). Although it's not as feature-rich as LDD, it's still a fun game to play if you don't have any assorted Legos on hand, or if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

I have tried that before but don't remember do you know if you can export it as .stl

The last time I played it, I was trying it out for the first time, so I wouldn't know about that. Because I'm going to busy at work for the next few days, I'll try to see if I can export it as an .stl file when I'm still at home. Also, I came across this site recently when looking up Lego's competitors: https://rebrickable.com/. Apparently you can sell instructions for how built something.

Speaking of competitors, because 3D printing has been gradually improving over the years, it is possible to 3D print Lego-like pieces and potentially give Lego a run for their money. If that becomes a thing, I can see people using niches to make themselves distinct from Lego.
It seems as Linux becomes more popular, sites like this one start attracting trolls and other weirdos. A common theme I've noticed with this crowd is their profiles have very little information about them, they'll often post threads about them wanting to engage in very shady behavior (or, in one case, be an attention-seeking idiot), and they're only on here for an extremely short while (often a few hours at best).
My dad never fails at showing me how much of an idiot he's become. Even though I'm more than willing to show him how to use the gps app on his phone, he's insists on using a regular gps instead. However, he was perfectly fine with my brother showing him how to use the iPhone he had years ago. There would be a lot less arguments between us if he would simply think, and stop playing favoritism.

You say you don't want to be tracked or hacked on a credit or debit card but you want to have Google or some other company track where you're going? Also, most GPS apps need internet and most good GPS devices are able to be used offline.

I never said I would use the GPS app myself. Whatever he does with it is his business.
Because the Lynx browser was made back in 1992, I decided to look up info about the 90s web, and through the EricExperiment, I found this one site called theoldnet.com (which is kind of like the wayback machine). For those of you who remember the 90s web, check it out. Just be aware some sites have broken links.
One occasionally annoying issue when using LibreWolf (and this isn't their fault) is not being able to access certain sites because they don't offer HTTPS. Even when I list the site as an exception after I click on "accept risk and continue", it still doesn't work. Because of this, I just downloaded the Lynx terminal browser, and I'm going to try it out.

I'm hesitant to add it. Yes its an extension created by the EFF (an organization I trust), but it mentions it needs to "access your data for all websites, access browser tabs, and access browser activity during navigation". Not to jump to conclusions or anything, but that sounds like spyware to me.

Except this issue, how's your overall experience about librewolf?

    Very good
Though I've admitted I'm not technical-oriented, I've recently developed an interest in learning more about emacs because I heard there are a lot of cool things you can do within it

I personally have no interest in emacs since vim works fine for me but I recently found out you can also play games using Emacs.

I saw that video. It'd be interesting to think about emacs being a possible replacement for walled gardens like Steam, but being that I'm just beginning to learn about emacs, I can't say that's a realistic scenario and I don't want to sound like I don't know what I'm talking about.
I just got into argument with my dad about how I refuse to use a debit or credit card because I don't want Visa or whoever knowing my business, nor do I want a hacker accessing my bank account. Being that he's ignorant old fart who favors convenience over anything else, he acted like I'm making baseless claims about everything I said.
It turns out this waitress I've been telling you guys about is now a liar. Rather than telling me she did have a boyfriend to my face, she decides to mention it off-handedly in a phone call, and acts like it slipped her mind. While I have no problem with her dating someone else, I do have a problem with her not being completely up-front about everything she says. Now I'm keeping her at arms-length for the time being.

Mate, sometimes that behaviour could indicate that she still feels presured. I´d just shake it off and walk on.

I didn't pressure her into anything. I simply told her that the more I've gotten to know her, the more I developed an interest in her. She understood, and thanked me for letting her know. After I calmed down and politely talked to her about this incident, she said "What I said to you in person was before I had a boyfriend." If she said to my face "I'm interested in someone else", that would've been more clear.

I should also mention she did say on the phone that she does have a few problems with this guy, and her dating him is what's stopping her from dating me. I'm just going to let time run it's course, and whatever does or doesn't happen between us is what it is, especially with the ball being in her court.
Some of you have been seeing my statuses about this waitress at work I'm interested in. She said she wasn't interested in dating because she's busy with school and work, so I was thinking that finding small ways to show I'm committed could make our relationship work. However, I now realize I wasn't being respectful towards her decision to not date me, and because of that, I've decided to no longer pursue her.
At work today, I told this waitress I'm interested in "Even if you and I don't end up together, I still want to do what I can to help bring out the best in you, because I see the powerful woman inside." That led to me giving her a book I've had called The Warrior Within, which is about Bruce Lee's philosophy on life. Hopefully that helps her become the best version of herself.

She appreciated it and said she was going to read it tonight when she got home.
Because I want to help bring out this powerful woman in her, I'm going to work on a drawing of her tonight that depicts her as a samurai slashing a sword. I imagine she'll appreciate that as well.

I appreciate the link, but its in French, and I don't speak that. I also don't have any interest in learning a new language, because it doesn't apply to my daily life.

While this is off of the point, I did try my best at learning American Sign Language a few years ago, because my friend at the time was hard of hearing, but I realized I don't have the patience to learn a new language.

Disc Replay didn't have Walkmans available (that isn't too surprising because they're a thrift store), but Target had a generic one for $18. After I get off of work tomorrow, I'll go over to Disc Replay and try out some tapes (as I'm brand new to using them).

    SpongebobFan1994
That Walkman was a piece of crap. I put a tape in and it didn't even play it. Thankfully I got my money back.
I had to miss work this morning because nausea got the better of me. I must've had something that didn't agree with my stomach. :(

I'm not vomiting anymore, and I've been sipping Mountain Dew because the syrup's supposed to help combat indigestion
I *might* go to work this afternoon (maybe around 2:30-3:00), but if they've got someone to cover for me, then I'll stay home

After texting my assistant manager about my improvements, we agreed that I would take care of going grocery shopping for my parents first, and then come into work at 6 tonight. I'll get significantly less in my next paycheck, but at least I'm making up the hours I missed.
I recently completed my transition from T-Mobile to Verizon, and I finally upgraded my phone. Rather than going from an old school flip phone to a smartphone, I got a rugged flip phone instead. I haven't had a smartphone since my last one broke around 2018 or so, and being that I don't want or need all of these pointless apps or distractions that comes with having one, I'm happy with my new phone so far.
