The Problem :

I updated my bios to the newest version I disabled: secure boot

and I boot Linux iso image with Rufus/Balena 64bit when I tried to boot my linux

it's give me this message: watchdog bug soft lockup - cpu#3 stuck for 22s (systemd-udevd 179)

Idk what this is means I try to edit the commade by adding this : noveau.modeset=0 but not working!!!

Please help

Welcome to the forums,

watchdog bug soft lockup

A 'soft lockup' is defined as a bug that causes the kernel to loop in kernel mode for more than 20 seconds without giving other tasks a chance to run.
The watchdog daemon will send an non-maskable interrupt (NMI) to all CPUs in the system who, in turn, print the stack traces of their currently running tasks.

now this could be a hardware problem, but your spec looks fine to me.
It could be caused by a corrupt download or bad burn of the installation medium ..Did you download from the main site or secure mirror ? Have you tried to live boot it on another machine? if so did it load ok?
Rufus has been known to cause some problems, personally I recommend Etcher
What build of linux are you trying to install ?

Bwiz

Thank you a lot for replying yes I tried on another machine and it's worked fine,
distros last versions: Kali Linux, parrot os, wifislax too
nothing seems to work i use etcher to burn iso

When you said every distro I thought you meant 500+ of them
are you new to linux ? as non of these I would consider to be sutable for the Newbie , even if you get past your current problem they are pigs to set up for all but the experienced [I don't get involved with them at all now]

no am not a newbie actaully i face a lot of problems and i find a solution to them but that one is so hard to find why
even with bios i downgraded it to previous version but nothing happend

Purely a suggestion.. its new kit, most distros have problems with new kit to some extent or other due to availability of latest drivers
so the only linux I know which give the least installation problems as it has more newer drivers than most is MX-21_x64 “ahs” [ the ahs stands for advanced hardware support], this build is also only been out a few weeks, give it a try and see if that will load

i open the link but it's says that the links isn't available I check the official website

MX-21_x64 “ahs”, an “Advanced Hardware Support” release for very recent hardware, with 5.14 kernel and newer graphics drivers and firmware. 64 bit only. Works for all users, but especially if you use AMD Ryzen, AMD Radeon RX graphics, or 9th/10th/11th generation Intel hardware. (not yet available, coming soon!)

sorry it was on my release list

I agree with Etcher. Fedora Media Writer is good too. And despite it's name, it runs on anything, even Windows.

Thank You Bro but when I tried to disable the defender and use the Etch the ubuntu works when I boot it but when I restart the distro give me the same error : soft lookup

I have nor read the initial posts of this topic......but.....When you reboot are you removing the usb stick?

Go through your process again......boot to the usb stick, then install.

Once you have it installed, Reboot ...(taking the usb stick out just before you reboot.)

Yes i did that with kali linux i installed it but when i boot from grub it gave the same error

Probably better to do this with linux mint.....however, kali will prob be ok

So, you installed Kali, and then took out the usb stick, and then rebooted.

As the pc woke up from the reboot, Kali should have immediately come up on the screen.

Is that what happened ?.....Did you do anything else?

been doing a bit more snooping..
Intel have issued a patch for gen 11 processors but it it should work with drivers in Kernel 5.10 or higher
did you try the release candidate for mx , yes i know its says up to gen 10, but it might work [al be it with dodgy graphicsthats what the patch is for ] you could then try installing the intel patch

Well i downlaod this iso 2020.4
1-I use Etcher to burn kali image in usb / hard drive.
2-i disable secure boot
3- boot with F12
4-click on install
5-i install it cuz kali 2020.4 somehow show me the installation without problem.
6-install kali on my hard drive cuz i split it
7-finish install and reboot
8-boot with grub
9-error
10-t's give me this message: watchdog bug soft lockup - cpu#3 stuck for 22s (systemd-udevd 179)

Last version of kali the same process but when i boot using f12. I click on install it'a show me error it'a not giving me a chance to install it
