I already have two AstraZeneca's....the mix is "hopefully" good (their word not mine).....my gp actually used the phrase "she'll be right mate'.....

Yes, that's what they say, but they won't give you a strong answer "you should choose this because this and this". It's like "here are the brochures for you to choose LOL"

    Sounds like a holiday advertisement.
When the experts get around to using words such as 'may' and 'could' and 'perhaps' or 'will likely'.......usually followed by...it really is too early to tell.......you know the world is in trouble.
    Onward and Upward.

My wife volnteered to buy me the C++ Programming Language (Stroustrup) for Christmas, and it seems someone must be copying it by hand. Damn supply chain.

I've never been so close to buying a mortgage.

Not to get political, but you'll never own it because of property taxes and housing regulations.

If you really wanted to, you could get a houseboat. Check out this link for the pros and cons of owning one: https://fishingstone.com/fishing/boat-house-pros-cons-owning/ Luckily, it never mentions anything about taking out a mortgage.

You’ll have to pay the anchorage anyway

Yes, but it's not like the owner of the dock will repossess the boat if you fail or refuse to pay
Is it me, or 90% of the questions in this forum have turned into someone trying to get us to find something in Google for them?

I get that you need to to be able to "speak the problem's language" to find answers, but sometimes it's like "dude. no."

Just for clarification: I am not referring to the questions I usually reply to. I'm just baffled by many other threads I see; I am willing to help but not to type your exact question on Google.

I personally haven't seen that, but I think what happens is some new users develop this habit where they ask for help when completing relatively-basic tasks at first, and because they never really learned to find the answers themselves, they become lazy as a result. Tbh, this would also describe me to an extent, but I've gotten better with that.

But at least they are "in the same week". With this set up, if you pull a system library update as a dependency for an AUR pkg, from AUR, you're broken.

I'm sorry Manjaro didn't work for you, but at least you found another distro you feel more comfortable with. I still want to try out the Plasma variant though. I'll keep this thread in-mind when doing that.
Also, when I was checking for notifications, I saw this link in the status section, and began to check out your website. While I was just skimming through everything, I'll admit it was interesting to look at.

It's not that it didn't work for me; it works pretty well. It's more about Manjaro's inconsistency when it comes to figure out what's their stand.

Manjaro it's a product that sells itself as a entry-level distribution, but then expects the user to make strong, seasoned judgements without enough warnings. I consider that a pretty bad decision and, honestly, a red flag.

Thanks for your comments re. the blog!
So I applied for my Australian citizenship a few days ago; let’s see how it goes and how many more papers they ask for!

    Thanks all!

@wizardfromoz I am Spanish, and yes we can maintain both citizenships. We just need to make a declaration at the Spanish Consulate so that we intend to keep being Spanish (hahaha!) within 3 years from obtaining the Australian one.

Indeed, my 10 months old daughter already has both citizenships as she got the Spanish one by descent. She will have to do the exact same declaration from the moment she turns 18 and before 3 years from then.

@Condobloke yes, indeed, I am on a permanent resident visa (skilled worker). Thanks!
Super kudos to kdenlive for having published hardware codec profiles for nvidia cards, whenever that happened in the last 6 months. Now I can finally use my GTX 1070 to render video at a proper speed (~150fps for 1080p60).
When I read someone claiming that Linux is "X tens times faster than Windows" it's like going back to 2001. Just move on, people.

That is more about LibreOffice performance on different OS, rather than how the OS handle the hardware. And most likely, LO or its dependencies are the ones to blame.
