[Solved] Fans ramping following fresh install of Fedora 37

seems all good in the hood. Adding all those power management settings for the GPU made the Fan quiete as I had it on Fedora 36.

[Solved] Fans ramping following fresh install of Fedora 37

Promissing new settings at the kernel level (grub). dpm, aspm, powerplay, bapm. Fan (I am assuming here gpu fan) got a lot quiter. I thought the CPU fan was causing the ramping up but apparently it was the GPU fan. Newest kernel may have had different parameters than the one in Fedora 36 ..

[Solved] Fans ramping following fresh install of Fedora 37

Thanks for your reply. The unit is newish. Got a deal when it came out. MSI Delta 15 (amd). In any case, I took it apart. I am crap with software but really good when when I comes to hardware. Changed the paste, removed all possible dust (there was none). Like I said in my original post, I do...

[Solved] Fans ramping following fresh install of Fedora 37

thanks for your reply. Sorry forgot to mention that I did try most of them at some stage but to no avail. I forgot to mention that while distro hopping I went back to windows 11 for a short while to check if the fans were responding the same way. Strangely enough they did. They went as crazy if...

[Solved] Fans ramping following fresh install of Fedora 37

systemd-sysctl issue after Fedora 37 upgrade

Thanks guys for your replies. Faced with other issues and one being simply unbereable (fan ramping up) on Fedora 37. Not being able technically and not having the time to go through troubleshooting, I moved away from Fedora 37 for the moment and slapped Ubuntu on my rig. Faster to fix issues...

systemd-sysctl issue after Fedora 37 upgrade

Default settings. I think that means BTRFS Can't go the route of moving back to F36. Don't have a backup (I know). Have new issue with Fan ramping up with F37. Sounds like I am in for a Fresh install I would have lovedbeing able to understand why F37 is looking for 99-sysctl.conf when there is...

systemd-sysctl issue after Fedora 37 upgrade

Took a sysctl conf file off the internet and copy and pasted into my own sysctl file. I figured, it apparently is looking for some configuration into that specific files. Since mine was empty it did not make much sense. Now its not empty anymore. Made sure that the config its giving error on is...

systemd-sysctl issue after Fedora 37 upgrade

'chkconfig' seems to be installed. .net/ipv4/icmp_bogus_error_responses --> where should I be looking ? 99-sysctl.conf is empty. There is no conf inside of it. Also Fedora 36 was extremely quiet. Fedora 37 is extremely noisy. My Laptop (Fan) ramping up even with the slightest operation on the...

systemd-sysctl issue after Fedora 37 upgrade

I have been running Fedora 36 since day one happily and without a glitch. Saw Fedora 37 poping up on my screen and decided why not.. I guess I should have thought twice before proceeding. I am suffering from the error below. Symptoms are also very sluggish laptop and no internet for the first...

MSI Delta 15 and Fedora 36

As I said still no go with this model --> A5EFK AppImage --> same result as stated in previous post. Look at the compatibility list on OpenRGB. This model A5EFK is not in the list. Inferring a probable compatibility issue due certainly to the motherboard (Issue reported on OpenRGB forum).

MSI Delta 15 and Fedora 36

I have never been able to make OpenRGB work on my Delta 15. Appimage/dnf install (fedora 36). meestic works perfectly. ec-sys is a module that has been taken out of fedora kernel. can't go that route. msi delta 15 A5EFK does not seem to be compatible with OpenRGB.
