Solved Systemctl - sysctl - systemd

Hi! I have seen many ways to manage services in Ubuntu. Such as Systemctl - sysctl - systemd - /etc/init.d scripts and so on. Some of them seem to work always, whereas some not. ¿What is the difference among them all? Thanks!

Solved ip - ifconfig - netplan - interfaces file

Hi. Thanks for the explanation. I tend to use only one tool to avoid conflicts. I have seen however that some configuration is temporary and others are persistent. Depending on the tool you use. ¿What is the major difference between Network Manager and systemd-networkd? Thanks again!

    Solved Crontab vs /etc/cron.x directories

I think I have it clearer now. I guess if I have to analyze an unknown server, it's better to take a look both at /etc/cron* and also to crontab for all users. Am I correct? Thanks!

    Solved Crontab vs /etc/cron.x directories

Hi. I have been working with crontab to schedule jobs. I usually run crontab -l (to list the jobs) or crontab -e (to edit them). Always bearing in mind each user. I also have found the following directories: /etc/anacrontab /etc/cron.d /etc/cron.daily /etc/cron.hourly /etc/cron.monthly...

    Solved Security doubt about ssh-copy-id

Hi! The user I'm issuing the command with only exists in my local machine. So I'm not prompted for any user/pwd. ssh-copy-id -i /home/user/.ssh/test.pub [email protected] and I get /usr/bin/ssh-copy-id: INFO: attempting to log in with the new key(s), to filter out any that are already...

    Solved Security doubt about ssh-copy-id

Hi! I have been using SSH for a long time, and I do know the purpose of ssh-copy-id command. If I copy the pubfile contents and paste it into the authorised_keys file on the target server, that's OK, because I already have access to the target server, and there are not security concerns...
