yeah I understand that and respect the diligence to keep the community on here safe. when I made the account it was out of necessity, today I used it because i was too lazy to try and find my password for my main account and I had my alt saved on my phone (which was what I was using)

Previously the alt was created due to my computer crashing where i was logged in, and not being able to find the password or log in from my phone, so I just made an alt. at this point it isnt needed anymore if you want to delete it.

okay so, after it finished it cleaned itself up- crisis avoided! ill just mark this as solved, with the conclusions: DONT encrypt your hard drive! be aware, timeshift belongs on an external drive! dont panic, and a fresh install of the OS never hurt!

thanks!! Yeah things are working better now, and I will read that article you sent on timeshift, the only problem I have right now is dealing with time shift.

honestly I think its timeshift that was the issue, but I will never know, because my files where encrypted, but if the issue happens again I will know this time!

I didn't use bleachbit till the issue came about, and yes, encrypting the drive was not needed, and proved to cause more harm then good. Happy to hear you've never had these issues. Now after reinstalling the OS everything is working better then ever ^_^
