    Decision Source Information

MS Office will not run on Linux natively. It may run on Linux using an emulation application such as "Wine" or ""PlayOnLinux". That being said, there are 'Office Suites' available for Linux which are able to work with Microsoft Office files (for the most part). Linux Mint would probably be the...

    failure to launch!

Are you sure it is "Software Manager"? I see only 'icons' in mine (Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon). Perhaps you are referring to the 'File Manager' (Nemo) or the 'Synaptic Package Manager' or the 'Update Manager'?

Yes. Many of the Linux OS makers/vendors have discs for sale. Check their websites for links to such. You can also download the Linux OS for free from most of the sites. Check for an extensive list of Linux OS vendors.

Here are a couple to check out. I don't use either and cannot say if they are any easier to use than Audacity. But it doesn't cost anything to look :)

Useless icons on screen following installation

@wizardfromoz @LinuxLifer After re-reading this thread and looking at the OP's first screenshot I got to wondering; you don't suppose that is just a "Theme" do you? It should be easy enough to go into the 'Appearances' app and change the theme as a test. Just a thought. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Newbee needs help!!

You may want to check which kernel you are using now which is giving you problems. According to the screenshot in #11 above it is Linux 5.4.0-47-generic x86_64 If you reinstall and the older kernel works fine keep note of that and don't update the kernel to the newer version. Keep an eye on the...

    Newbee needs help!!

In your original post you say "After updating my ubuntu 20.04" - does that mean you had Ubuntu 20.04 installed and running fine, everything worked, and then after an update the keyboard stopped working? I ask because sometimes people confuse "upgrading" with "updating". Well, if the keyboard...

    Newbee needs help!!

Without a working keyboard at boot the problem becomes a little more involved. Usually one would use the 'down' arrow key at the Grub boot menu to select a previous kernel but with no working keyboard that is not an option. Therefore, if you have a working 'onscreen' keyboard after booting up...

Low disk space on “Filesystem root”, partitans & .Private Used

See #5 above: From your above screenshots it appears Timeshift backups are using quite a bit of space. 110.3 GB. You could probably clean out some of the older ones as mentioned by @wizardfromoz above. It appears that the 65.3 GB directory is an encrypted /home directory.
