Avoiding the creation of “just another distro.”

I ask none personally, just giving my perspective on ''how to avoid to make just another distribution''. With other words, for me, none can be trusted individually, I put all my eggs to lots of people, unknown to each other in an open project. Still many things can go wrong but that's my best...

Is an encrypted Linux file system really useless without the password?

Some quotes from Bruce Schneier: I am regularly asked what the average Internet user can do to ensure his security. My first answer is usually 'Nothing; you're screwed'. History has taught us: never underestimate the amount of money, time, and effort someone will expend to thwart a security...

Is an encrypted Linux file system really useless without the password?

My subject in this thread is how to have a completely secure device, useless for everybody else that may have the device in his hands in the future. Ideally to be equally useless for unequipped thieves and agencies. If I can't get the second one then the first one. Don't consider your case as...

Is an encrypted Linux file system really useless without the password?

So a combination of encryption and a quadruple deadbolt for the backup media I guess is the proper way to use computers, doesn't matter even if you lose the machine

Is an encrypted Linux file system really useless without the password?

It's all in the title, if someone has physical access to your desktop or you lose a laptop it's like you're losing a lifetime diary to an evil neighbor. Yes, evil with certainty, because he snakes on you, I don't need more info about him. Unless you are living in some kind of fortress desktops...
