I'm building my first server and it's so different than building a PC :OO [HELP!]

Okay I went asking around some other places and someone recomended that I could plug 4 SATA drives to the miniSAS slot using a splitter cable, and then use 6 pin to molex to power the hdds up. Is it possible that this 6pin will have too much power for 2 sata drives and damage them or is there...

I'm building my first server and it's so different than building a PC :OO [HELP!]

Kind thanks for staying on topic and contributing valuable knowledge. It seems from my point of view there won't be that much of a difference using SATA, will there. This rack was designed before SSDs were popular, probably my current SSD can match some 13 y.o. SAS HDD. Worst case (not too bad)...

I'm building my first server and it's so different than building a PC :OO [HELP!]

I really appreciate the ideas, but to summarize the topic, the core of my question is how to do configure this specific system. And currently it really boils down to what do i need in terms of hard drives. What component should I use to connect my hard drives to this mobo. As I said, it's the...

I'm building my first server and it's so different than building a PC :OO [HELP!]

I'm a poor student that needs performance at a price, with a machine like this I can learn so much. It allows for great number of virtual machines and learning how to network them and administrate sounds super awesome fun. I have a project in mind involving at least 10-20 machines. When it comes...

I'm building my first server and it's so different than building a PC :OO [HELP!]

Wow thanks. I was so careless here. I was looking at X5570 and X5670, thanks so much! I fixed the build to include X5670, now's good right? Great, okay. I want USB2, because USB3 uses data both-ways and that gives half of the available devices available. I found 4x ECC DDR3 MICRON 1333MHz 4GB...

I'm building my first server and it's so different than building a PC :OO [HELP!]

Hi, I watched a bunch of videos on YT how to get an old enterprise server and make it work as home media device or a home server, the things are pretty cheap, but I'm also a pretty poor student, so I'd rather not experiment with parts that might not work. I'm planning to go with DebianEdu or...

Thank you, I will look into this to try to understand what exactly it's doing. But that's a new direction for me with nmcli. If I do the steppes you listed, will this show as a network I can connect to within Podman?

How to - dedicated usb wlan interface for container networks, NAT or Bridge?

It's latest DebianEdu Standalone, it has a network manager, but I have pretty bad experience with GUI on Linux, there's always something that needs to be done with the console ;p It's like you said 4 interfaces on the same VM, but when I use a default network all Containers are connected to the...

Thanks so much. It's fascinating. And it's crazy that the add actually says "gimp.org" but then takes us to link "gilimp.org". How is that even allowed?

Dear Community I'm an beginner/intermediate Linux user and I'm working on a project that requires me to launch 4 containers, but they need to be seen by the WIFI router as separate machines. I've got usb 4 wlan interfaces and I would like to designate one for each container. My understanding is...

    VirtualBox Networking

I think it's worth mentioning the ability to forward a usb interface directly to a VM for completely organic networking. Usb dongles cost pennies and it saves so much config. And if you want to run other vms or containers on a host vm, then this method lets you have most control from within the VM.

Accused ‘Raccoon’ Malware Developer Fled Ukraine After Russian Invasion

They live in a country that promote these kinds of behaviors. Their system rewards dishonesty and corruption. I really hope that letting them into our countries in western Europe will let them resocialize into the modern less corrupted and more honest society and not that they will go...
