    Mint and the Dell 4800

I've had nothing but woes trying to get the last three distro's of Mint or Ubuntu working on my newly aquired Precision Laptop M4800. The K2100 is the biggest problem. Does anyone have a suggestion as to which distro works the best with my new laptop? As I don't have alot of experience wiht...

Tell me what you want to learn

Well actually, coming from that other OS, I have relied heavily upon disk images for workstations and servers alike. I used a package call Acronis that takes and complete copy of the partitions and with a boot disk restores them in a flash. I've noticed gladly, that Mint installs nice n...

HP Drivers not covered with HPlib

Bought this used off eBay. I went to the HP website and they have no Linux drivers for this scanner. This is what is on the HP website for support. Guess I need to look for a replacement.

Laptop for Linux - Budget $800

I just bought a sweet Dell Precision 4800 with 32 GB RAM the 4930MX Extreme CPU and a 256 GB SSD all for 460 delivered. I've installed Mint with no issues. I like the Dell's as they can dock with peripherals keyboard mouse and multiple displays. Then you can undock and be on the move...

HP Drivers not covered with HPlib

Mint 19.1 Cinnamon. I got the latest I could find HPlip installed and when I had it scan for USB it found nothing. I was wondering if I installed the HP drivers for WIN7 under WINE perhaps that would work. It seems the HPlib is geared towards printers - it found my Laserjet 2200 well...

Tell me what you want to learn

As a newbie to Linux Mint I would like to see tutorials that help those of us who have a vast experience with windoze and need assistance in the transition to Unix. What I would find specifically helpful are videos that explain how tasks that are common place to us are preformed in Mint. Some...

HP Drivers not covered with HPlib

I'm the unfortunate owner of a HP scanjet N6350. When I purchased it I hadn't considered having to use it in other than windoze! So now that I'm moving away from that OS I find that HPlib won't find my scanner, it actually seems to be more a utility to find printers.. Sadly, HP has no dupport...
