What should I do with free disk space?

Fair enough. We just see a lot of people who say "I'm using Kali because I want to be a 1337 h4x0r!" but they should be using a beginner-friendly distro.

What should I do with free disk space?

@Arthurbow: just out of curiosity, have you read https://www.kali.org/docs/introduction/should-i-use-kali-linux/? It's something everyone considering Kali should know.

What should I do with free disk space?

@osprey: I've seen it said that with today's higher-capacity RAM, the 1x-2x swap rule no longer is applicable. Simply adding a few gigabytes should be sufficient swap, if you need it at all. In fact, systems that have 16+ GB of RAM (or even 8+, depending on your use case) and systems that only...

Has Lenovo given up on Linux laptops?

Well, I bought a Thinkpad on discount. Looks like I get Windows with it, but ehh... It could come in handy, I guess. I'm going to repurpose my old laptop as a Windows machine for the few things I may need Windows for, and since it had Windows preinstalled, I won't have to buy it, so I guess...

Has Lenovo given up on Linux laptops?

Hmmm... Doesn't look bad, although it's (a) not 14" and (b) I was hoping to get another 2-in-1. I may just have to buy a Windows Lenovo (possibly a Yoga X1 or whatever they're called) and drop Linux on it.

Has Lenovo given up on Linux laptops?

I'm planning to replace my laptop this Black Friday season, but during my "pre-shopping" I noticed a disturbing fact: Lenovo seems to have quietly dropped most Linux devices (at least laptops), as you can see here: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/d/linux-laptops-desktops/ "49 results", says the...

Indeed. I'd suggest asking your employer to provide you with a work machine.

    Kernel level spyware

Agreed... I too have Crowdstrike at work and I think that you are out of place to push back against having it on your work machine. Businesses need to take security seriously and it's good that your company is doing so. @Old Tom Bombadil, you hit the nail on the head here.

Custom Bash prompts (or other shells!)

I've seen starship, but it didn't quite suit my fancy (and anyway, it's more fun to roll your own!).

Custom Bash prompts (or other shells!)

Yesterday I dove into Bash prompt customization. Having emerged from the other side, I'm interested in seeing if anybody else has custom prompts in their shell. To start things off, here's mine: An overview of the components of this: 0. A battery indicator that shows if the battery needs...

Indeed. I had to wonder the same thing. This article could use a grammatical overhaul by @KGIII.

You could try asking them in their Matrix rooms. They'd be much more likely to respond there. Specifically, try #matrix-dev:matrix.org

    Developers Needed

I know for a fact that the Matrix people are working on getting together a Matrix app with your own server embedded, so you're always decentralized. As far as web hosting, that doesn't need Matrix. Just pop Apache on your PC.
