I have had problems with Linux crashing, and I have enabled crashdump. Especially one line in the logged dmesg I found interesting:
[ 8906.236858] kernel BUG at fs/inode.c:611!
Does this mean a kernel bug, or can it be something else?
I also have a full dump, but I don't really know how to use...
I'm learning linux kernel dev. Very new to it. I'm playing around with kernel panic.

I'm running debian bookworm on my framework laptop with an i7-1165G7 and Iris XE graphics. In deep rock galactic, my game crashes but only when a certain effect is shown on screen (that of bugs being killed with anything that kills them with fire, such as the breach cutter.) The entire game...
I'm using Linux Mint version 21.1 and the Librewolf browser version 111. Sometimes when using Librewolf, the tabs hang and become unresponsive when I close them. Other times, the browser will suddenly freeze and close on itself. Starting a fresh browser session doesn't fix the problem, nor does...
I'm currently running Mint XFCE 21.1 and LW 111. Sometimes when I close a tab, it will hang there and become unresponsive. Other times, like on Bowflex's website for example, the browser will suddenly freeze and close itself. I've tried restarting it, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling...
I've recently noticed when I'm browsing the web, my screen suddenly goes blank and MATE restarts. I tried looking up how to troubleshoot this, but I got vague results. I decided to check the documentation and found a way to send a crash report, and typing in the problem and clicking "pastebin"...

restarting a process when it is crashed
I come here hoping to find out what's going wrong with my PC. It crashes almost every day, unpredictably (not obviously load-related) and the only symptoms are repeating one to two seconds of audio if music or a video was playing and a total freeze requiring a reboot. This has happened...
So recently I have been getting random crashes out of nowhere.
They happen at random without anything that I can notice being related.
Im using rasdaemon to log the error since im new to looking through log files for errors and im not sure which file to look at exactly.
The error that I get...
Hello, I've recently installed Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon on my [laptop: https://termbin.com/7d25] (first time user) and it's been going fine, except it tends to freeze sometimes, never crash, just freeze. I've tried everything from ctrl+alt+escape, to the reisub method, but it needed a hard reset...
I've asked in a few different communities and while most are helpful, the results have been really limited. I should say first that I've been using Linux for about 6 years, but to troubleshoot deeply or to understand logs is beyond my ability.
My laptop has been randomly shutting down...

Good afternoon everyone!
I've been sadly suffering random full system crashes in my Arch installation since I've first installed it, circa December 2020. Yes its been a very long time... also lots of progress abruptly interrupted... I have a thread in the Arch Linux official forums...
So I'm having issues with Kali 20.1 on a persistent USB.
Once several partions have been setup, one partition is encrypted. I boot into the encrypted persistence and run "apt update", no errors. I then run "apt upgrade" or "apt dist-upgrade" and at some point the screen goes blank with...
I recently bought a new Threadripper based system and I've been having trouble with, potentially, the hardware of the machine. The system randomly crashes, seemingly at random:
Sometimes the crash is right after a boot; right at the lightdm login screen or right after logging in: the...
I have a few serious issues with my Ubuntu installation, all of them only when working with the battery. I have dual boot between W10 and Ubuntu 18.04 lts, and both of them work perfectly when charging, but once using battery only UBUNTU is the only one who doesn't work! The problems:
This is Greg and I've developed a trait, in my old age, I like to see how things work. And I'm disliking "windows" more and more each day, as I grow older.
I finally broke my "Tessa". I was adding things in terminal, like Kodi and Mythtv, to see how things worked and if I liked them.
