Evening all. I have 22 running on a spare ssd and am wondering if others have done and what are your thoughts. Now i know it is about halfway through the beta testing but i am unable to see much if any changes from 21.3. Maybe Matrix and a faster opening software manager. I am unable to see any performance improvements, not that it was needed i guess. Any thoughts on this. Please and thank you.

Release Notes

Linux Mint still uses Ubuntu as the base, upon which Linux Mint is built.
Seeing Ubuntu 24.04 has recently been released, that instigated a new release from Linux Mint as well.

Seems a bit like 'keeping up with the Jones's, doesn't it.....

I just feel any changes are not " Grand" enough to warrant a jump from 21.3, well at this point anyhow. When you look at it Mint had nothing to prove anyways, it is simply a brilliant distro.

21.3

I have LM22 on a spare PC, and I will keep it updated and observed, daily....up to and including when the official full release takes place.

I will not upgrade my main PC until I am good and ready, and also until I am certain It is going to be as reliable as 21.3

How it interacts with the swath of software which I habitually run, remains to be seen.

The interaction of some software (even when it comes from the Software Manager/Synaptic Package Manager) can at times be a little unpredictable.
After all the work I have put into LM21.3 I would hate to see all that work come unstuck because I rushed.

I am still waiting for someone brighter than me to bring out a tutorial showing how to thoroughly set up dual monitors, Not just the screens and panels but also to arrange the many and various icons on the panels at the bottom of both monitors.

Dual monitors looks like this.....

I won't be holding my breath.....
