Hello,
I have an 6700 Xt in a external GPU box connected with my laptop via thunderbolt4 connection. I have dual boot installation (windows and Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS).
I have installed the driver for the egpu on windows and it works fine.
I have problems when installing the gpu on ubuntu. I followed the instructions for the amdgpu installation
-sudo apt-get install ./amdgpu-install_21.40.1.40501-1_all.deb
-sudo apt-get update
-amdgpu-uninstall

The screen connected to the gpu turns on and display the extended display as it should.
When it is time to login (just after starting ubuntu), when I have the prompt to ask for identification. But as soon as I log in, the screen turns off. I can also see the gpu turning off too (fan and the LED). The funny thing is that when I enter "lspci -v" the gpu turns on as well just for a few seconds.
I also tried the instruction on this post but it did not help: https://www.linux.org/threads/solved-im-new-to-linux-and-im-having-a-problem-with-my-gpu.36833/

I thought it was some right issue but my user name is already in the video group (when entering "groups" in the terminal)

Has anyone an idea ? :)
