A good friend has recently died.

Hi,
I'm using Linux Mint 20 and using a Dell Latitude and an old Lenovo.
I have been asked by my late friend's sister if I can look at his emails
to allow her to notify his contacts about his death.
This appears to be a problem - legally.
Is there any file in his system - (the HD of which I can plug into my Linux 20) that will
allow me access the contacts..or do I have to apply to Google(.etc) for access thereto?

My deepest condolences my friend I've suffered the pains of loss like very few I've lost my mother father sister and children I am the last of my line but I have heart like no other either and if there is anything I can do pm me.
