I use LibreWolf among my 100 other browsers. It's become my default for personal stuff, i.e. forums and such. I disabled UBlock (still available through this channel) for Linux.org (I don't normally use UBO, it's too cumbersome, NoScript works fine, so UBO is usually turned off anyway). I have NoScript as I say. I've whitelisted the site, linux.org = Trusted. All that's blocked is Google (ain't gonna unblock Google). Everything else is allowed. I tried visiting with Brave, and as you know, Brave only blocks third-party trackers unless you tell it otherwise (they pay you to look at ads, too, but IDK what to do with these "rewards", lol). Still getting the pop-up in Brave.
IS this a site issue? Only started moments ago. If it's not in error...
I don't mind ads, I really don't. Just no trackers, Google spying, etc. (which is why I don't do anything private on my smartphone). If find myself in a financial position to support the forum directly come the future, will this suffice to remove ads and popups?
Also, I'd like to suggest alternative advertising. Not sure what companies do this ethically, but they must exist.
