From what you wrote, it is clear that you are prejudiced about this distribution just because it is Russian.
Would you install Red Star OS on your pc just to try it out?

Hmm...

We may be getting a wee bit too close to the forbidden topic.

What a pita of a topic.

When a OS is made by certain people or from a certain part of the world, the end users become wary.....usually for good reason.....some of the reasoning can fly a bit 'close to the wind'....but generally the majority will have a good grip on what is a safe choice and what is not

In this particuar instance, ....for this particular os, I resorted to DistroWatch (https://distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=popularity)......it does not appear....anywhere.

Yeah, I know, distrowatch is largely an indication of popularity, but it at least it gives some idea .....which is difficult if not impossible to find elsewhere.

So , prove me wrong. Find me a well written article by an entity we recognise as being observant, truthful, objective, etc about this particular OS, and I will listen.

In the meantime, I have a great deal more respect for my PC (and indeed for myself), to ever put such garbage on anything that belongs to me.

With other 'happenings' around the forum, hopefully it will stay that way. (Solved/dead/buried)

I've decided to make sure of that.

The thread has been solved. Beating a dead horse isn't going to help it move the load any faster. Also, there are subjects that are just hard to discuss without also discussing politics. That's okay. We just don't have to have those conversations here. There are places better suited to that.
