Audio issues on MSI workstation laptop with a Realtek ALC898 sound

I'm confused, where you thinking the same so rather a working device and being able to rename it or did you mean something else?
I was thinking about Fedora, If we both have Fedora 41 then we should indeed be able to do the same things right ? but we don't.
renaming the device with that Gnome extension I mentioned.
Did you read the other replies I sent ? I don't think the name is the issue here. Its the system's detection. The system is not even identifying it as a headphone jack.

I missed that part, you mean a jack as in one of those cords you plugin into the audio outputs on the motherboard?

Jack as in 3.5mm jack... the normal jack that is used for headphones. Its built-in and not external

Is it possibly one of those 'special' jacks that works for headphones and a mic at the same time?

(Not that I have any help, but I figured I'd ask. It may clue someone in, if that is the case.)

I've heard and I am not sure that MSI Workstation PC's Jacks are configurable so you can have two headphones (reconfigure the mic to output audio). Again I am not sure
