Backup Owncloud via WebDAV

Hi all,
we have many files on an owncloud-server. The problem is that there is no backup of the Owncloud-server. So i sync all files to an internal fileserver via the owncloud desktop client an take a backup of this files.
But i think that is more secure to backup the owncloud-server directly.
Does anybody know a way to connect to webdav an copy all files from the command line so that i can write an script?
I have seen that some Synology NAS Diskstations have an app called "cloud-sync" that can do it. The Diskstations run Linux so there must be a way

If you own the server the easier way to make a backup would be to run something like borgbackup on the server or to sync your files on the server to your Synology using something like rsync.
