I am running duel boot 2 hard drives 1 is windows 10 and 2 is Linux mint Tara. when I boot into Linux the Mint icon comes up for about 3 minutes then screen goes blank. power light on monitor is blue meaning it is active. Windows 10 boots up fine. Can someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks

Do you have another computer you can try SSH'ing to the linux unit from?

If not, you can try this...

Edit in /etc/default/grub

# Stops the ubuntu purple screen
#GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

# Uncomment to disable graphical terminal (grub-pc only)
GRUB_TERMINAL=console

*Note* - this makes the change permanent.
Then run a sudo update-grub

If this gets you to a command line, then it's something with your Xwindows
or graphics card driver most likely. But now that you have a command line, we can run
some commands to troubleshoot things.
