Hi,
Can anyone offer some advice regarding cloning from a smaller (120Gb SSD) to a larger (240Gb SSD) using Clonezilla. I have carried out the clone and the attached screenshots of GParted on the two drives will show I have a large unallocated space on the 250Gb drive. Also note the amount of free space on sda3 on the two images. Is there any way to allocate some of that "unallocated" space to that partition? I have tried everything I can think of without success. Or should I partition the larger ssd before cloning?

Thanks in advance.

@olympic -- Upper image is what you desire to modify; lower image is the cloned 12GB SSD.

resize sda4 to fill remainder of now Unallocated space. Move sda5 within resized extended sda4 to the 'end' of it. Resize sda4 down to size desired (essentially moving it to the right to make space for sda3). Resize sda3 to fill in now empty unallocated space in front of sda4.

Q: why so large a swap partition? and at the beginning of the drive?

Thanks for the advice. I will try that and post the result.

The swap partition was created by the installation itself and at that position. I have not changed it.

Thank you. Another satisfied customer.

Those instructions go straight into my little black book for future reference.

That will also be the end of those annoying "Insufficient space" messages.
Cheers

You're welcome! It was really just having to get used to Gparted.
