Hi all, sorry to bother you all with this. I was using linux mate 18.3. On an Old Lenovo 500. I tried to upgrade to cinnamon but ordered Robo linux from the linux shop in error. Thought I would run it in compatibility mode to see if it might be useful. After it completed its checks the computer refused to restart in anyway. I cannot remove the disk. I would appreciate any possible solutions as I can't afford another computer right now.

Hi & Welcome to Linux.org.

Is your Lenovo 500 a desktop or a laptop?

IF it's a laptop straighten out a paper clip and check out this video.
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Look for the small hole on the faceplate of the disc drive. ...
  3. Straighten a paper clip and insert it into the manual release hole until resistance is felt. ...
  4. Press in gently on the paper clip until the tray is released.
Hope that helps.
