Good afternoon!
I have Ubuntu V 24.04 LTS installed, and every time I click on a link from commercial websites, the notebook turns off.

G'day Olavo Leite, Welcome to Linux.org

As well as the questions above, can you tell us if this is a laptop or a desktop, please ?

Did you have any of these problems prior to installing Ubuntu 24.04 ?

Take note of the time it failed, then try your luck with

sudo dmesg -T | grep -i -E 'error|failed'

clicking on any website generally does not turn off your laptop - usually this is due to a heating issue which is causing to CPU to shut down to protect itself,- I would clean the fans
I already did the test, I left the Samsung notebook turned on for 4 hours and nothing happened.
When you click on any link on the website, it disconnects.

/sw and hardware data:
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. 530U3C/530U4C/532U3C
Intel® Core™ i7-3517U × 4 – 64-bit
Ubuntu 24.04LTS

When turning on the cpu is cold and the problem happens.

In addition to the wise suggestion by @ML_113 in post #6, something helpful may be output with the following command from a terminal:
Code:
journalctl -b -x -p 3
The logs are often a useful place to check for information about problems like the one described.

laptop

This is the first time I install Linux Ubuntu.

How about running the command in the terminal that osprey asked you to just above your last post? And also the one in ML_113's post (post #6). And it would help to know more about your system. Run inxi -Fxz in the terminal and post back results of all.

Mm.

Sounds to me like it could simply be a bad ISO download. It does happen, from time to time. The internet is pretty reliable, for the most part.......but it's still far from perfect. Did you also download the checksum, and make sure the ISO was clean & error-free, before installing it?

What you're describing should never, under normal circumstances, ever happen. The chances of such an occurrence are so small as to be negligible.......but my guess is that the issue is almost certainly with the software - the OS itself - rather than your hardware.

Just my two-penn'orth, FWIW.

Mike. ;)

I've never had this happen to me...even when using windoze...now that's saying something.

^^^^^What he said !!
Either reinstall of choose another OS

Linux Mint is a good choice.

sorry I am late to the party.
Sounds like some corruption in either the ISO download/write or corruption of the application script,
Have you tried using a different browser to the one you're having problems with? Do you get the same result? Then I suspect the ISO is corrupt. try installing again, use a different USB.pen-drive [yours may have a fault]
