Hi,

I've been using Linux for many years. I'm about to switch to a new PC and I was thinking: change distro?
At the moment I'm a MINT user and I often use my PC for programming.
I'm considering a new distro because I find it very uncomfortable for me to find old packages in the repository. I would like a more recent version. Otherwise, I often find myself adding external repositories or build the software/lib from the source.
Do you have any suggestions for me?

Thanks a lot

I'd suggest Arch https://www.archlinux.org/download/

Thanks for the tip,

Probably I will try Fedora Rawhide. Maybe first on a virtual machine.

Best

G'day @gmapp and welcome to linux.org :)

I am a bit late to the party, but I run 60 to 80 or more Linux at a time from 4 of the different "Families".

If I might suggest, and you are going to use Fedora, then a good "map" of the different commands can be found with this link to the Pacman/Rosetta from ArchWiki

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pacman/Rosetta

Enjoy your Linux
