Hello. I am looking to purchase a new laptop: the 3525 or M6500IH.

1) how to install plasma [dual boot]
2) what problems i might experience during installing plasma and solutions to them
3) what problems i might experience while using plasma and solutions to them

welcome to the forums
1] disable windows quick-boot and safe boot in the UEFI/BIOS and re-boot the machine [basic instructions on installing, see link in my signature]
2] using the latest equipment with Linux can cause problems with component drivers [it takes between 6 & 12 months for the community to back engineer new drivers]
3] KED is FOSS, and I do not recommend it to the Linux beginner, it will not come with component drivers that are proprietary [supplied to the Linux community by the manufacturer] for a newbie it will make it a difficult installation as you may have to build/compile your own drivers.

If it is the Plasma desktop that attracts you, I would recommend you start with Kubuntu + plasma
