This problem have started occuring some time ago. As files once saved their contents are not visible. But opening in windows shows them correctly. Also editing them also shows changes on windows. But linux is not able to view their contents after saving.

You haven’t given us a lot to go on here.
This isn’t the psychic hotline.

What types of files are you talking about?
Where are they saved? Are they in your windows partition? A Linux partition? A shared partition? A shared external drive? etc
What type of file-system is in use at that location?

Do you get any kind of error messages when trying to view the files in Linux?

What Linux distribution are you dual booting with?

The more relevant information you can give us, the more likely it is that someone will be able to help you.

Seriously, I wonder whether this is some kind of file caching issue. When you make changes to files in the Linux operating system, the changes may be in cached in RAM memory, but not written to the drive immediately. If you disconnect power or shutdown the Linux computer in a "non-graceful" manner, the changes may not be written to the drive and the changes will be lost.

The "sync" command ensures that the disk cache is "flushed" (written to) the drive. Before you shutdown your computer, try the following: (1) Make the file changes and verify them as before. (2) Open a terminal window. (3) Type the "sync" command and press Return, do it twice for extra confidence. (4) Restart your computer as before. (5) Check the file to see if the changes were saved or not.

We do not have much information from the OP (@keshav_goel) with details about their issue. An improved description of the problem with lots of details and examples would help us help you.

why does the word

appear in the title?

Does this mean the thread was posted twice?
