It varies, but I'd plan on 30 minutes to install it. Faster computers will do it faster, and the reverse is also true. If you've done it enough times, you don't spend time thinking about your answers to the installation prompts. If it's your first time, it is in your best interest to slow down and ensure you know what the impact will be of the choices you make during the installation process.

Yes, you can install it just fine if it's offline. You just can't download the updates at the same time, so you'll have to update after the installation.

Before attempting to install, be sure to verify the integrity of your ISO.

When I installed Elementary OS Hera a few months ago and it took about 15-20 minutes.

I connected to the internet because I needed the 3rd party drivers and wanted updates.

Elementary OS is nice, I think you'll like it:-
Good luck with your installation.

no , elementary os took whole night and even now it has not installed 5%. what should i do?
It shouldn't be taking that long.
Abort the installation.

Did you check the integrity of the .iso file?

How are you trying to install? A DVD or USB thumb drive?

Did you use Rufus or Etcher?

Ok-

When you downloaded Elementary OS there should of been a md5sum or a shasum on that page.
It's a long signature that has to match.

Are you using a Windows pc? What version of Windows?

It sounds like the installer got stuck.

Shut the machine down and wait a minute than w/o the usb thumb drive plugged in let it boot up.
If all you get is a blinking cursor,
Start the install again.

Go into your BIOS (first plug in the usb thumb drive) and set the machine to boot to the USB thumb drive.
If you can before you start the install, connect to the internet.

yes it was saying that installer crashed , but i tried to install it three times.
It sounds like the .iso image is corrupt.

I would download another distro <OR> burn the .iso image of Elementary OS onto a DVD and try to install that way but w/o checking the .iso file you may face the same thing again.

If the .iso is described as

elementaryos-5.1-stable.20200706.iso

Then the hashsums are as follows:

SHA256 - c6d33fd1db260d4e10e5ccbf38b09ba6287904c3388afa7db2de43736be7245d

MD5 - f9be7b8162122367336dcf85809119c4
