Ethernet card not found and lshw doesn't show network section

Sorry, I was wrong about the Audio... it shows in "inxi" so I deleted that post. Oops. :oops:

OK on the frequent thunderstorms... they may be the cause then. I've never lost a network card to storms like that, but I have lost several telephone devices in the past.
 


Also, they make surge protectors that also protect your ethernet. It's basically like other surge protectors, but has an ethernet in and out.

I'm a Lubuntu fan, though it's not as lightweight as it used to be. It's still pretty light.
 
I like several. I'm currently using Zorin Lite, but also a fan of Linux Lite, Peppermint, Easy OS, and Lubuntu. Probably a few more even.
 
This article hasn't been moved to the new domain yet, but you may still be interested in it - it's about what's the 'best distro'. It's a very personal decision and a question to which there is no real answer.


I really should get that moved to the new domain, along with a few other articles.
