I only tested in Ubuntu. I figure it'll work elsewhere, but made no efforts to test elsewhere. Also, I'm not sure why this is in my notes, but it is.


I strongly suspect it'll be just fine on other systems. And yes, yes I did name my adapter 'booger'. I'm pretty much a giant five year old.
 


Interesting read, I don't actually see the point of change the name of your network adapter. If there is something I want change it's the name of the network connection.
 
I have absolutely no clue why that was in my notes, but it was. I think *maybe* I once wrote it as an answer (a long time ago) on AskUbuntu, but I don't know. It was in some much older notes and I tested it in Ubuntu (just a VM). It worked, so I made it an article.

Someone must want to know how to do that. Otherwise it'd not be in my notes.
