I installed Arch Linux alongside Windows and I can boot both operating systems after pressing F12. But when I want to go into the BIOS, the screen goes black and there is a small white line in the upper left corner.

Then I reinstalled the BIOS, but the I can no longer boot Arch Linux. But if I reinstall GRUB with a boot stick, I won't get into the BIOS again.

I have a Acer Aspire A315-51 laptop.

Then I reinstalled the BIOS
Interesting. Are you sure you reinstalled the "BIOS"?

Have you turned off or disabled "Fast Boot" in Windows?

Here is some food for thought:

Yeah. I downloaded the official Bios Update Application on Windows and it updated the Bios and after the installation I was able to enter the Bios. Sorry that I wrote reinstalled, I mean update, but for me in this case it is the same

I tried with both, enabled and disabled, but nothing worked in this case

G'day @Trombo and welcome to linux.org :)

Do you mean when you want to go into the Grub Menu, showing Arch and Windows, or do you mean you get a Grub Menu, select Arch and then end up with the blank screen with cursor, or other?

I am a little confused (some might say my normal state of mind, but then I turn them into toads).

Off for my evening in Oz, back tomorrow.

No, when I press F2 to enter into the BIOS
