Hello,

Having some weird screen tearing issue now system. This was not occurring with the nouveau drivers, I just installed the proprietary NVIDIA drivers and now im experiencing a ridiculous amount of screen tearing. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is this just a problem with the NVIDIA drivers? Would it be better to revert to the nouveau drivers?

just in case yall need this info:
Distro: Fedora 35 with the MATE DE
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745

Thank you

I also have Fedora 35, nVidia and MATE, I rarely see issues.
By default MATE uses Xorg, not Wayland.
I don't think I've ever seen the nouveau out-perform the nVidia drivers.

Just for a test you might try Gnome/Wayland, just to see if it still happens.

i booted a live usb with Fedora 35 Gnome and the tearing didnt happen. Now that im back on my system, the screen tearing is strangely inconsistent, sometimes it will occur sometimes it wont.
