Windows 10 preview builds can now run Linux apps directly on the Windows 10 desktop using the new Windows Subsystem for Linux GUI. In this article, we go hands on with the new WSLg feature to demonstrate the types of graphical Linux apps you can now run.

Looks like Microsoft is now in the Linux game

This whole WSL thing isn't MS being nice. It's removing the reasons people have for switching to Linux. It has never been about embracing Linux, it has been about taking away the need/desire to switch.

This is another marketing strategy from Microsoft. They just want to keep people on using Windows.

The good news is, Windows Subsystem For Linux (WSL) is not available by default to all Windows users. Based on what I've read on the Microsoft website and Wikipedia, only those who choose to sign to their Windows Insider program can use it.
