Has anyone been able to make ksuperkey on KDE Plasma function properly?

Has anyone been able to make ksuperkey function properly, to solve this problem?
When using VirtualBox VM guests, the Super/Windows key input always goes to the KDE host, even when the guest has focus.

When i press metakey (windows key) in VirtualBox guest, it still acts on the Host.
Basically no difference...
What am i likely doing wrong?

It's an interesting question and I have no idea.

If no one comes along with an answer over a reasonable period of time, perhaps there is something to be said for contacting either or both of kde.org and Oracle, to see what they say.
