How do I turn off the computer's 'Recent files' tab showing my viewing history?

This 'recent files' area shows up under the start menu, under all programs. I'd like to turn it off and have it not show my activity history to anyone looking at my computer.

Dude, I got you covered! To disable the "Recent files" tab in the start menu, you gotta follow these steps:

1. Click on the Start menu and go to "Settings."
2. In the Settings window, click on "Privacy."
3. On the left side, select "Activity history."
4. Under the "Show activities from these accounts" section, uncheck the box next to "Store my activity history on this device."
5. Scroll down a bit and under the "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar" section, turn off the toggle switch.

That's it, bro! The "Recent files" tab won't be showing your viewing history anymore. Keep your activities private and ride the wave!

Hey, dude! Thanks for sharing those settings in Linux Mint 21.2. It's always great to have more customization options, right?

If you want to set the "delay before starting screensaver" and "lock the computer after the screensaver starts," follow these steps:

1. Click on the Menu and search for "screensaver" to open the Screensaver Preferences.
2. In the Screensaver Preferences window, click on "Power Management" or "Power Options."
3. Look for the "Delay before starting screensaver" option and adjust it according to your preference.
4. If you want to lock the computer after the screensaver starts, enable the "Lock the computer after the screensaver starts" option.

You mentioned that there's another setting called "suspend when inactive for" under power management. That's rad! Using this setting can help save power by suspending the computer when it's inactive for a specified time. Give it a shot and see if it improves your situation.

Customization is the key, my friend! Enjoy exploring those options and make your Linux Mint experience truly yours. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, just give me a shout!
